রাশিয়া যখন দোনবাস ও জাপোরিঝিয়া অঞ্চলের একের পর এক গ্রাম দখল করছে, তখন হঠাৎ করে ইউক্রেনীয় বাহিনী রাশিয়ার কুরস্ক অঞ্চল আক্রমণ করে প্রায় এক হাজার বর্গকিলোমিটার ভূখণ্ড দখল করে নেয়। প্রথম দিকে ভালোই সাফল্য পাচ্ছিল ইউক্রেনীয় বাহিনী। বেশ জোরেশোরে হামলা শুরু করছিল কুরস্ক অঞ্চলে। একেবারে পশ্চিমা অস্ত্রশস্ত্রে সজ্জিত হয়ে জোরালো আক্রমণ করছিল, ইউক্রেন তার সামর্থ্যের প্রায় সবটা দিয়েই এই আক্রমণ পরিচালনা করছিল।

জেনারেশন জেড বর্তমান বিশ্বে বহুল আলোচিত একটি শব্দ। মূলত ২০১০-এর শুরুর দিকে জন্ম নেওয়া শিশুরা এই প্রজন্মের অন্তর্ভুক্ত, যারা ‘জেনারেশন জি’ নামেও পরিচিত। বর্তমান বিশ্বের সমগ্র জনসংখ্যার প্রায় ২৬ শতাংশ এই প্রজন্মের অংশ। এরাই সমাজের অর্থনৈতিক, সামাজিক, রাজনৈতিক, সাংস্কৃতিকসহ সমস্ত জায়গায় নিজেদের চিন্তার বহিঃপ্রকাশ ঘটাতে পূর্ববর্তী প্রজন্মের স্থলাভিষিক্ত হওয়া শুরু করেছে। ধারণা করা হচ্ছে, ২০৩০ সালের মধ্যে শ্রমবাজারের প্রবেশ স্তরসহ সমাজের সব স্তরে জেনারেশন জেড নিজেদের অবস্থান পাকাপোক্ত করবে। বাংলাদেশের বর্তমান প্রেক্ষাপটে এই প্রজন্মকে নিয়ে নতুন করে বলার প্রয়োজন নেই। কারণ তারাই বাংলাদেশের দ্বিতীয় স্বাধীনতার কারিগর। তাই আগস্টের গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের পর জেনারেশন জেড সম্পর্কে সাধারণের জানার আগ্রহ, তাদের স্বতন্ত্র চিন্তাভাবনা, ভবিষ্যৎ পরিকল্পনাসহ বিভিন্ন বিষয় বাংলাদেশের আর্থ-সামাজিক, রাজনৈতিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক পটভূমিতে আলোচিত বিষয় হয়ে উঠেছে।

In the face of a significant backlog, Bangladesh making concerted efforts to prioritise the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals. The nation is witnessing notable advancements in its efforts to achieve various goals although there remains work to be done. In a significant development, the nation has successfully transitioned from the status of the least developed countries, yet to put to effect, and is now setting its sights on attaining middle-income status by 2041.

তৃতীয় বিশ্বের দেশগুলি বরাবরই বিশৃঙ্খল। তাহার কারণও নিশ্চয়ই রহিয়াছে। এই সকল দেশে রহিয়াছে আইনের শাসনের ঘাটতি। জোর যাহার মুল্লুক তাহার—এই নীতি আজও বিদ্যমান। নাগরিক অধিকার রক্ষার ব্যাপারে এই সকল দেশ উদাসীন ও অযত্নশীল। জাতীয় ও সাংবিধানিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলি ভঙ্গুর। ফলে এই সকল দেশ যাহারা পরিচালনা করেন, তাহাদের অনেক কাঠখড় পোড়াইতে হয়। তাহারা সমস্যার আসল জায়গায় হাত দিতে পারেন না বা দেন না। ইহাতে এই সকল দেশ ম্যানেজ করা সকল সময় সহজ হয় না। অনেক সময় সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক পরিস্থিতি এমন পর্যায়ে চলিয়া যায় যে, ম্যানেজ করিবার মতো পরিবেশই আর থাকে না। তখন চরম অরাজকতা ও বিশৃঙ্খলা দেখা দিলে একসময় সহজ সমাধান হিসাবে দেখা দিত মার্শাল ল’। ইহাতে সংবিধান স্থগিত হইয়া যাইত। পরিস্থিতির উন্নতি হইলে আবার ফিরিয়া আসিত বেসামরিক সরকার; কিন্তু তৃতীয় বিশ্বের দেশগুলি ম্যানেজ করিবার এই অস্ত্রে এখন আর ধার নাই বলিলেই চলে। আজকাল মার্শাল ল দেখা যায় কদাচিৎ। তবে এখন অনেক উন্নয়নশীল দেশে ইহার নবসংস্করণ হইতেছে পুলিশি শাসন। এই সকল দেশকে পুলিশি রাষ্ট্র বলিলেও অত্যুক্তি হয় না। অস্ত্রশস্ত্র ও সাজসরঞ্জাম অনেক দিক দিয়াই তাহারা আজ স্বয়ংসম্পন্ন ও অধিকতর শক্তিশালী। তাই পুলিশ দিয়া যেইখানে শৃঙ্খলা আনা যায়, সেইখানে সেনাবাহিনীর কী দরকার? তাহারা কি নিজ দেশে যুদ্ধ করিবেন?
